What Is The Football For Good Fund?
Since 1888, Celtic Football Club has symbolised the power of Football for Good.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were forced to pause all of our traditional project delivery and fundraising activities and, in response to the crisis, our entire focus was redirected to alleviating the evolving complications through the launch of our Football for Good Fund (FFGF) on Friday, March 20, 2020, to assist those most in need.
What Are We Doing?
Since March 2020, thanks to the wonderful backing of the Celtic support throughout the world, the Fund has risen to over £1.3m and we have worked with a host of partner organisations to assist those most affected, by providing support in three key areas:
Food and Essentials –
Urgent support in the form of food and essentials has been provided to thousands of vulnerable children, families, individuals, pensioners, refugees, the homeless, those living in refuge and NHS frontline staff.
Fuel Poverty –
The number of people living in fuel poverty is on the rise, with almost one in four Scottish households affected in 2019, and these numbers are expected to increase given the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance has been provided to families and individuals to tackle fuel poverty.
Mental Health –
Due to the far-reaching and often tragic implications of the crisis, support has been provided to individuals to combat loneliness and isolation and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
With your support, we continue to ensure that assistance is provided to the most vulnerable within our communities, across all three key areas.
But we can’t do it alone.
We understand that many are concerned about their financial position at this time, and it is important to say that, while we are now actively appealing for donations, supporters are urged to donate within their means. Any donation – big or small – will go a long way to help those in urgent need of assistance.
And despite empty stadia and social distancing, with your help, we can still use football for good to bring people together to make a difference.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

The image depicts the famous scene as the team walked out on to the park in Lisbon’s Estádio Nacional on May 25, 1967.
The original painting graces the Celtic Park Boardroom and supporters throughout the world now have the opportunity to cherish their own copy of Gerard’s incredible piece, with this 72cm x 48cm poster print edition.
